WhatsApp is working on a brand-new design for its Calls tab, aiming to make it cleaner and more organized in an upcoming update.
In the 2.24.24.19 beta version for Android, it was revealed that WhatsApp plans to introduce a more streamlined call log page by grouping all calls from the same contact. Here are the details:
A First Look at WhatsApp’s Redesigned Calls Tab
The new Calls page signals the end of the previous approach, where every call was logged individually, creating a “cluttered” interface. The updated design is more practical and visually appealing. WABetaInfo shared a preview of this change with screenshots, showcasing the improvements.
Key Changes in the Redesigned Calls Page
- Grouped Calls: All calls from the same contact are now consolidated into one entry, reducing clutter.
- Profile-Centric Display: On the call details page, the contact’s profile photo is prominently displayed at the top.
- Convenient Shortcuts: Users can initiate text, voice, or video calls directly using clearly highlighted shortcuts at the bottom.
- Organized Interaction History: The page now neatly displays the call history, making it easier to track interactions with a contact.
WhatsApp is currently testing the redesigned Calls tab with beta users on Android, and it is expected to roll out to all users in the coming weeks.
